On February 8th, The Captain William Hilton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awarded Hilton Head Prep students Elizabeth Eisinger (5th grade), Chloe Marko (6th grade), Owen Eldridge (7th grade), and Lauren Harvey (8th grade), the American History Essay Awards. The contest, open to all island schools, focused on the topic "Celebrating a Century: America's National Parks."
In addition, Morgan Woodson (5th grade) and Bailey Sullivan (8th grade) received the DAR Youth Citizenship Award. Each lower faculty and middle school on the island received this award to give to one outstanding student. The recipients were chosen by the faculty and staff of their respective schools.
Finally, Ryan Nimmer (12th grade) received the prestigious DAR Good Citizen's Award with his essay titled "Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It."
